With comprehensive training, mentoring and support from our experienced SEMH Outreach Team, the successful candidate will work across many primary schools across the Greenwich Borough to support children with identified behavioural needs. You will have the chance to use your skills in a brand-new way, stretching your talents and supporting the children that need help the most.
Day-to-day you will model effective behaviour management strategies to teach pupils either 1:1, part of a small group or as part of a whole class situation. • To help pupils in the areas of literacy, numeracy and social skills development.
  • To accompany pupils on day trips as required in agreement with school staff and the Head teacher.
  • To liaise with mainstream school staff on general welfare and behaviour matters as appropriate in accordance with the school’s policy.
  • To carry out systematic observation of pupils, record observations and keep up to date records and contribute to planning and appropriate strategies based on these observations.
  • To participate in case conferences and/or attend pastoral support programme meetings, as appropriate.
  • To actively participate in whole school discussions about strategies and methods of intervention.
  • To participate in whole school training as appropriate.
  • To promote Equal Opportunities policies in a manner compatible with the duties of the post.
  • In discharging the duties of the post to have due regard to the provisions of the Health and Safety at Work legislation.

• Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent) and at least one year’s experience in an educational role, or other suitable, transferable experience.
• Training in autism, behaviour management, or other SEN-related areas.
• Experience working with students with physical disabilities or medical needs is a plus.
