Job Overview
Rikama Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate Progress Partner to join our team at a special educational needs (SEN) school in Greenwich. In this role, you will support small groups and 1-to-1 sessions, delivering a differentiated curriculum tailored to the individual needs of students, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and related conditions. You will work alongside a supportive team to foster academic success while also helping students develop critical personal, social, and health education (PSHE) skills.
Key Responsibilities
• Support students with a range of learning and social needs in both small group settings and on a 1-to-1 basis.
• Adapt the curriculum to meet the individual educational needs of each student.
• Assist students in developing life skills and PSHE competencies, which are essential for their overall wellbeing.
• Build strong, positive relationships with students, their families, and school colleagues.
• Collaborate effectively with teaching staff and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and contribute to regular reviews of learning plans.
Key Requirements
• Experience working with children, particularly in a special needs or educational setting.
• A genuine passion for supporting young people with special educational needs, including ASD.
• Strong communication skills, both with students and colleagues.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team, showing flexibility and adaptability.
• Patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to working with students with diverse needs.
• Male candidates are particularly encouraged to apply due to the nature of the role.
Desirable Qualifications/Experience
• Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent) and at least one year’s experience in an educational role, or other suitable, transferable experience.
• Training in autism, behaviour management, or other SEN-related areas.
• Experience working with students with physical disabilities or medical needs is a plus.
