Children who spend a lot of time sitting down are more likely to develop depression by the age of eighteen, a new study released today states. The study completed included 4,257 students aged between the ages of 12 to 16, it showed that those who completed an additional hour of light activity each day had fewer symptoms of depression.
Sit Less, Get Children Exercising
The study showed that individuals, no matter what age, should do up to an hour exercise every day to increase overall productivity in a person’s daily life. In contract, schools should be integrating light activity into a child’s curriculum as much as possible, especially within EYFS at this age, young people learn through fun.
