Rikama Education is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a warm, welcoming and well-established nursery in Sydenham for an experienced and passionate Nursery Room Leader.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated Early Years professional to lead a nurturing baby room where children’s wellbeing, development and learning are at the heart of everything they do.

As the Baby Room Leader, you will create a safe, stimulating and caring environment where babies can thrive. You’ll lead by example, inspiring your team to deliver exceptional childcare while building positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, motivate and support the Baby Room team to deliver outstanding care and education
  • Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities in line with the EYFS framework.
  • Monitor children’s learning and development through observations, assessments and planning.
  • Ensure the baby room is safe, welcoming, clean and well organised at all times.
  • Build strong partnerships with parents, providing regular updates on their child’s progress.
  • Support, mentor and develop team members through regular guidance and supervision.
  • Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies are adhered to at all times.
  • Work closely with the Nursery Manager and wider nursery team to maintain exceptional standards.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive and nurturing environment for children, families and colleagues.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (essential).
  • Previous experience working within a nursery setting.
  • Experience as a Room Leader or a Senior Practitioner ready to take the next step.
  • Excellent knowledge of the EYFS and child development.
  • Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
  • A genuine passion for delivering outstanding childcare and education.
  • Sound understanding of safeguarding and health and safety requirements.
  • Paediatric First Aid qualification is desirable (or willingness to obtain).
