Rikama Education are working with a SEN school based in Broadstairs, who are looking to recruit a Behaviour Support Practitioner.
Salary is £32000 per annum; working hours are 8:30 – 16:30, Monday – Friday, Term time only. This is a temporary to permanent position for the right candidate.
The school caters for children and young people, aged 5-19. Students at this school have moderate to severe intellectual disabilities and are mostly on the Autistic Spectrum.
Many students also have communication difficulties, such as mutism and selective mutism. There are also emotional/behavioural difficulties associated with their complex disabilities.
There are also a range of medical needs, meaning these students require additional support to ensure they can reach their full potential.
This is a highly rewarding position. Although the students are challenging, this is the perfect opportunity for someone who is ready to further develop their skills in educational support.
The school and residential homes have excellent facilities to support their children and young people.
It is essential that you have previous experience supporting young people with additional needs.
You must also have a DBS registered on the update system, or willing to have a DBS completed for you.
Ideally you will need to be PROACT-SCIP trained, or equivalent. Although this is not essential, it is recommended. However, full training and support will be given.
This is a fantastic opportunity. There is plenty of support from the SLT, excellent CPD provision and career progression opportunities.
Should you be accepted for this post, you will be rewarded by:
A dedicated consultant for support
Free and professional training
A long term contract with the potential to go permanent at this school
Excellent rates of pay
