School Absences Double in a Week

New data released has stated that the number of pupils off school for Covid-related reasons has doubled other the last week.

Numbers released have showed that Covid absences are now at 2% of total pupils in England; these numbers have risen fourfold since the 11th March – 33,000 to 127,000.

Geoff Barton, the general secretary of the Association of School and College Leaders, has stated that it is ‘inevitable’ that there will be cases of Covid still with the full opening of schools, as well as pupils self-isolating at home.

Has your school had any Covid positive pupils/staff since returning? How is self-isolation working for your pupils?
